Poster design at bus stop for the social campaign Waiting Space

A space for the community

Smaller commuter train stations, like Cheshunt Station in northeast London, are primarily being used during rush hours and left empty throughout the rest of the day. The outcome is dull, boring and unused space within a prime area of town. At a location which have a lot of potential, while at the same time there is a lack of availability of space for the community.

The solution is a community engagement proposal that is designed with a participatory design program that invites creative thinkers to interact with this particular space in a new and different way.

By creating a space for the community, by the community, you make sure that the different needs of the community are being met.

Since the Waiting Space proposal relies heavy on community participation, a social media presence is therefore a very important aspect on the campaign.

Each poster for the campaign encourages people to join the 'fight' on social media, in this case Instagram. Here they have the opportunity to engage with the community, share their own ideas and support other suggestions for the space.
